Sally - the Queen's Librarian

“I decided to leave my husband — and some graffiti pulled me through. It said: ‘Take control of your life.’”

Sally still remembers it clearly. A moment that changed everything.

She describes herself as kind, funny and lesbian. A proud grandma of three, her greatest love is her family: her wife Catherine, her two sons, and the grandkids who light up her world.

If she could whisper something to her younger self? “It will be OK.”

She finds peace walking the dog in the forest — trees above, birdsong all around. Just quiet, and a little bit of bliss.
